Kevin Tindell, at left, speaks to a group gathered for the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches Ecumenical Pride Worship 2013, “Draw the Circle Wide,” at First UMC Chicago Temple June 23. The event paid special tribute to Rev. Greg Dell, who could not attend due to his ongoing health issues.

Also addressing the crowd were Bishop Wayne Miller (Evangelical Lutheran), Bishop Sally Dyck (Methodist), Rev. Lois McCullen Parr (Methodist), among others. Dozens of churches and groups were represented in the audience. The coalition will march together in Chicago Pride Oarade June 30.

Spokespersons for the two non-profit beneficiaries of the night’s offering also addressed the crowd: Aidan McCormack of The Crib and Bonn Wade of TransLife Center.
