(Chicago, IL, October 14, 2016) — On Thursday, October 20, Howard Brown Health will host a free community discussion to address HIV stigma and how it contributes to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The event is open to the public and will feature government officials, members from the Howard Brown leadership team and light refreshments.

“We’re proud to host this important discussion with such vital members of our governmental leadership in the fight against HIV and the associated stigma,” said Howard Brown Health President and CEO, David Ernesto Munar. “The ongoing fight against HIV must address stigma as one of the primary barriers to getting tested and accessing affirming, up-to-date healthcare. We hope to respond to community concerns and review recent efforts, both by Howard Brown Health in Chicago, and by our special guests on the state and national level, to fight stigma and shame against people living with HIV.”
