Blossom Boys, a retail flower shop at 9911 S. Walden Parkway in Beverly, closed Dec. 24, according to DNAInfo.
Owners Steve English and Ryan Steinbach opened the shop April 24, 2008. Steinbach said, “I’ve told some people that we are restarting or changing our scope.” English added that it has become harder to make a profit with retail flower sales.
On Facebook on Dec. 24, English posted a photo of a “Closed” sign with the caption “Thanks for the memories.”
When Windy City Times profiled the business in 2010, English said, “Beverly is the safest neighborhood in Chicago. It does not ‘feel’ like Chicago. The feeling is quaint, warm and friendly … almost village-like, an oasis in a fast-pasted urban city.
“We are accepted as a hardworking couple who own their own business and give back to the community.”
