On Dec. 7-10, tap dancers of jorsTAP chicago will take the stage at Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave., to premiere “Hansel and Gretel: How Hansel Became Hansel.”
“jorsTAP Chicago is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2012 to disrupt the preconceived notions of tap dance,” according to a press release.
“Art helps people open their minds to possibility beyond what they have experienced in their lives,” Artistic Director Kendra Jorstad said. “The combination of an old-school folk tale with transgender identity issues showcases this story in an accessible, enjoyable way to families.”
Tickets are $20 (free for those 18 and younger on Saturday and Sunday); visit Art.org/jors-tap-chicago-performance-hansel-and-gretel-how-hansel-became-hansel. For more about the company, see jorsTAPchicago.org.
