Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE)—Chicago’s only Equity theater dedicated to producing new work with women at the core—announced the Midwest premiere of the lesbian-themed production The Cake, written by Bekah Brunstetter, directed by Lauren Shouse, and featuring RTE Founders Tara Mallen and Keith Kupferer, RTE Member Krystel McNeil and Tuckie White.
The Cake runs April 8-May 20 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Ave.
Brunstetter is the Emmy-nominated producer and writer of the hit NBC drama This Is Us. The play is inspired in part by the case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, which is currently in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Admission is $18-$38 each; visit RivendellTheatre.org.
