Life Is Work has announced its performer lineup for the Chicago Trans Visibility Pageant 2022-2023.

The March 31 event will highlight the talent, accomplishments and vitality of the LGBT+ community at a time when it is under attack. Just as we saw with Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in the 90’s and the Defense of Marriage Act in the 00’s, we are now watching a wave of anti gay legislation sweep the country in a blatant attempt to win a midterm election by stirring up homophobia and specifically transphobia. This pageant will be held at the beautiful 800 seat auditorium of the Kehrein Center for the Performing Arts and will feature Free Parking, Free Admission for BIPOC trans/non-binary and a catered open bar reception for VIP. We are so grateful for the support of our partners, who are working tirelessly to address the growing inequality in housing, health care, criminal justice and employment. What we are NOT running short on is JOY. When faced with rising rates of violence and stigmatization, making spaces for that joy is a revolutionary act.

Life Is Work invites you to be a part of that gay(happy) agenda by joining us for a night of celebration and wonder. Featuring performances by emcee Monroe Alise, Amalia Black, Tahjee Iman and Lila Star. Contestants will compete in 3 categories for a $3000 grand prize with $1200 for the first runner up and $800 going to the second runner up.
