On June 1, the Chicago Fire FC earned three points at home with a 2-1 win against the LA Galaxy on a rainy evening at Soldier Field, as Hugo Cuypers and Brian Gutierrez scored for Chicago.

With the result, the Fire extended its unbeaten run to three matches without a loss in league play (1-0-2).
However, the real story was that this matchup also marked the team’s annual Pride Night. Before the gates opened, Pride Night sponsor Caravan hosted the South Lawn Pride Tailgate. With DJ NOSIKE as emcee, the Carvana Pride Tailgate featured activations such as booths from Fire partners Carvana, Heineken, Buick GMC, Hyundai, Continental Tire and Hive2, as well as pop-ups from local community organizations; a variety of tailgate and interactive inflatable games; and special performances from the Vogue School dance group, electronic violinist/DJ Tony Radzik and musical artist Chanelle Tru. Also, the first 5,000 fans who attended the Pride Tailgate received the Fire’s Pride Night giveaway item: a Pride crossbody clear bag.
In addition, the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus performed the national anthem. Also, Carvana recognized Chicago Fire Rec Soccer’s Play Proud League during a pre-match on-field ceremony with a check for $5,000. Launched in 2023, the Play Proud League was developed in conjunction with Common Goal to create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people, friends and allies to compete and build community; registration for the summer league began June 3.
