Thirty-five famous names representing movies, television, music, soaps, Broadway and comedy will be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, per ABC 7. In the television category, Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts (a member of the LGBTQ+ community) and George Stephanopoulos will be honored along with Bradley Whitford, Noah Wyle, Greg Daniels, Sarah Michelle Gellar, soap icon Melody Thomas Scott, Gordon Ramsey and Lucero. Representing the film world will be Oscar winner Rami Malek, Timothée Chalamet, Chris Columbus, Marion Cotillard, Keith David, Rachel McAdams, Demi Moore, Franco Nero, Deepika Padukone, Molly Ringwald, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci; Air Supply, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Paulinho da Costa, The Clark Sisters, Miley Cyrus, Intocable, Angelique Kidjo, Lyle Lovett and Josh Groban are music stars who will be honored. Others include Broadway superstar Lea Salonga, comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Special-effects expert Carlo Ramboldi and producer/director Tony Scott will be honored posthumously. 

Netflix canceled the mystery comedy drama The Residence and the medical drama Pulse, and has paused the black comedy No Good DeedNJ.com noted. According to Netflix’s description of The Residence, it “is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.” Starring Uzi Aruba, the show also featured a same-sex First Couple in President Perry Morgan (played by Paul Fitzgerald) and his husband, First Gentleman Elliot Morgan (Barrett Foa). Pulse followed the staff of a level-one trauma center in Miami as they navigated a hurricane, a sexual harassment complaint and a race to become the next emergency medicine chief resident.

Queer Eye, Netflix’s longest-running unscripted series, is ending after season 10, Deadline noted. The show will have aired around 90 episodes across 10 seasons when it departs, with D.C. as its last location to find a fresh group of individuals ready for a life-changing experience. The show features relationship expert Karamo Brown, fashion expert Tan France, food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, and hair and makeup expert Jonathan Van Ness. Interior design expert Bobby Berk co-starred for eight seasons and was succeeded during seasons nine and 10 by Jeremiah Brent.

Caitlyn Jenner’s friend and manager Sophia Hutchins died in an ATV crash in Malibu, California at age 29, Page Six noted. Hutchins was driving the vehicle near Jenner’s $3.5 million Malibu condo when she collided with the bumper of a moving car; the impact threw Hutchins and her ATV off the road and down a 350-foot ravine. Hutchins—who, like Jenner, was also a transgender woman—appeared in several episodes of Jenner’s E!’s reality show, I Am Cait. In 2017, Hutchins moved in with Jenner and became her manager, but their relationship was never romantic. It was not known where Jenner was when Hutchins crashed.

On the Monet Talks With Monet X Change podcast, Wayne Brady said that he will forever be grateful for the “beautiful pep talk” his friend Billy Porter gave him when he was going through a difficult period in his life, according to Entertainment Weekly. The Emmy-winning actor/game-show host opened up about the time the Pose star encouraged him to take over his role as the drag queen Lola in the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots and refused to let Brady talk himself out of the opportunity. “I just lost my voice because of Let’s Make a Deal… I was really dark. I was in a very dark, dark place,” Brady said, adding that he later went to Boots with Porter in it. After initially rebuffing Porter’s attempts to get him to succeed him in the role, “[Porter’s], like, ‘Wayne Brady, shut up… I’m telling you, [you] need to do [this],'” Brady said. “Billy just basically gave me this beautiful pep talk. I was in tears. I said, ‘You know what? Let me see.'”

Lena Waithe and Brandon Flynn are among those who will be featured in “Reclaim the Flag,” a 30-minute short about the U.S. flag that will premiere July 17 on the “Reclaim the Flag” YouTube channel at 12 p.m. ET, Variety noted. The film, directed by designer Alexis Bittar, examines how the flag can be reclaimed as a symbol of unity for all Americans, with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community. The film also features Gus Kenworthy, Jonathan Capehart, Marc Jacobs, Bill T. Jones, Jim Parsons, George Takei, Gottmik, Gigi Goode, Cheyenne Jackson, Harper Steele, Isaac Mizrahi, John Cameron Mitchell, Paul Tazewell, Raquel Willis, Josh Wood, Jenna Lyons, Justin Tranter and Marc Jacobs.

Noah’s Arc: The Movie officially broke into the Top 10 list on Paramount+, currently ranking at #4 within the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan section, Gaye Magazine noted. This groundbreaking milestone makes Noah’s Arc: The Movie the first all-Black gay film to reach this level of streaming success on the platform. Written, produced and directed by the show’s original creator, Patrik-Ian Polk, the movie marks a triumphant return for the series that first made waves in the early 2000s as the first television series centered on Black gay men.

The North American touring celebration of the cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show—adapted from the West End and Broadway stage favorite The Rocky Horror Show—is slated for a performance at New York City’s The Town Hall for Nov. 3, Playbill noted. The performance will feature a screening of the 1975 film with some of the original stars on hand, live and in person. Film stars Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors), Nell Campbell (Columbia) and Patricia Quinn (Magenta) have been visiting more than 40 cities in the United States and Canada. Passes are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.

A group of queer arts organizations and artists has launched a new Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Arts & Culture Coalition—representing a network of dozens of LGBTQ+ artists, arts workers, culture bearers and allied nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles County, per a press release. Founded in March in response to President Trump’s attacks on LGBTQ+ communities through executive orders as well as federal, state and local budget cuts, One Institute convened a group of dozens of LGBTQ+ and allied artists and arts nonprofits to respond to the multiple crises. The Coalition’s inaugural convening will take place Tuesday, July 15, at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, located at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. The meeting will feature a keynote presentation on “The State of LGBTQ+ Arts in Destructive Times,” which includes a distinguished panel of queer arts thought leaders including activist Badly Licked Bear, advocate Álvaro D. Márquez, artist Paul Outlaw and and moderator/educator Ricky Abilez.

Bisexual Hacks breakout star Meg Stalter sat down with Glamour to discuss her new Netflix series Too Much, on-screen nudity and the stage, among other things, per a press release. “When I started dating in a real way, I quickly realized, Okay, I’m into women,” Stalter said at one point. “It feels more like I can connect with them in a different way that’s more natural to me.” Too Much Lena Dunham also, discussing how out gay actor Andrew Scott introduced Too Much creator Lena Dunham to Stalter’s videos: “He’s always ahead of the crowd, and he had fanned out and had a coffee with her. [He] basically said, ‘You two have to meet, you have something to make together.’ I trust him implicitly, and went home and watched everything she’d ever made—and, of course, Hacks, which is divine in its own right.”

BuzzFeed ran a piece on what fans feel are 29 criminally underrated queer TV shows. Some of them include the Netflix series First Kill (in which a vampire falls for a vampire hunter); In the Flesh; Hulu’s Mid-Century ModernWynonna EarpHeartbreaker; the 2019 reboot of Tales of the CityHacks (“Ava’s bisexuality really opens up the eyes of the protagonist, Deborah, to discrimination”); and A League of Their Own (“Heartbroken it was cancelled immediately; there is such a gap in sapphic rep”), among others.

Queer Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) is another new addition to Amazon MGM Studios‘ reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair, to be directed by and to star Michael B. Jordan, Deadline noted. There’s no word yet on the role to be played by Gladstone. Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh is another new addition to the cast. Jordan and Taylor Russell lead the cast of the film, which shoots this summer and is slated for an exclusive theatrical release on March 5, 2027.

Singer/talk-show host Kelly Clarkson postponed the opening of her new Las Vegas residency hours before it was slated to start, according to People. “The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve,” a “devastated” Clarkson shared on Instagram. As announced in February, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions—The Las Vegas Residency was set to kick off at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 4, with 18 performances scheduled through Nov. 15. 

All Things Go announced the second track of its forthcoming benefit compilation—Maren Morris’ “Welcome To The End”—with 100% of the proceeds going to its longtime collaborators at The Ally Coalition (TAC), a leading nonprofit dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth, a press release noted. Morris teamed with Jack Antonoff to produce “Welcome To The End,” the full track list, featuring more exciting marquee and emerging names from the festival’s history, will be revealed soon. Founded in 2013 by Antonoff and fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, TAC is committed to bettering the lives of LGBTQ+ youth across the country.

Attitude cover subject Yungblud has revealed that his ex-partner Jessie Jo Stark helped him come to terms with his pansexuality. The “Zombie”singer called the singer/actor, who he was in a three-year relationship with until their split last November, “the most five-dimensional person I’e ever met.” He credited her with helping him to “navigate” his sexuality even though she is “completely straight,” adding that their breakup was a “me problem.” Yungblud also said regarding his sexuality: “I am the pan man—I’m the fucking saucepan. Because it’s the [label] that allows me to be who I am; it’s the one with the most room for maneuver. Do you know what I’m saying? I do feel like I am less insecure about it.” 

Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s Masquerade—the immersive spin-off of The Phantom of the Opera—will begin previews in New York on July 31, Deadline noted. There will be a large cast that includes former Broadway Phantoms Hugh Panaro and Jeremy Stolle. Character roles for the cast were not revealed, but Stolle has been identified by fans as the Phantom who visited the Tony Awards ceremony last month. Another cast member, Kaley Ann Voorhees, portrayed Phantom‘s Christine several times on Broadway from 2014 to 2019. 

Lesbian actress Emiliana Jasper stars in the psychological thriller Mia, which is now available on TVOD platforms, a press release noted. The movie follows Aaron (played by Shah Motia), a man unraveling as he becomes convinced that a young woman named Emma (Jasper) is his long-missing daughter, Mia. Emma, however, insists she’s never met him. What begins as a mystery becomes a psychological showdown that forces both characters—and the audience—to question what’s real and what’s imagined. Jasper said, “Emma’s journey is filled with contradiction. She’s not just resisting someone else’s version of her; she’s trying to remember her own.” The trailer is here

The Television Critics Association (TCA) announced nominees for its 41st annual TCA Awards, with Apple TV+’s Severance leading the pack with five nominations, Variety revealed. Netflix’s Adolescence, HBO Max’s The Pitt and Hacks, and Apple TV+’s The Studio each racked up four nods. Nominations were voted on by the 235 members of the TCA earlier this summer. Because the TCA summer press tour was canceled, there will also be no in-person TCA Awards ceremony this year. Instead, winners will be announced later this summer virtually, via TCA’s social media. In addition, TCA will reveal this year’s Career Achievement and Heritage Award winners later this summer.

Global girl group Katseye dropped their second EP, Beautiful Chaos—and it’s the song “Mean Girls” that has piqued interest in the queer community, Queerty noted. During the outro of the song, the members sing, “God bless the T-girls / And all the in-between girls.” Two members of Katseye have openly discussed their queerness and the track was co-written by gay musician/songwriter Justin Tranter. “We work a lot with the trans community all the time, whether it’s fashion or music,” Katseye member Lara told Rolling Stone. “We are constantly around trans women, and I think we have so much love and respect for them. We wanted to shout them out.”

Top nominees for the 2025 ESPYs include Simone Biles, Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Caitlin Clark, Coco Gauff, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ilona Maher and Alexander Ovechkin, a press release announced. First-time nominees include Josh Allen, Freddie Freeman, Tyrese Haliburton, Ilona Maher, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Paul Skenes and Gabby Thomas. Among other developments, two women’s college teams will face off for the title of Best Team: North Carolina women’s lacrosse, who recently completed an undefeated national championship-winning season, and University of Connecticut women’s basketball, who recently won its 12th national championship. Hosted by Shane Gillis, The 2025 ESPYs will air live from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16, and will stream live on ESPN+. 

Queer entertainer/fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi will return to the NYC venue 54 Below with his band in Isaac Mizrahi Survives Democracy on Aug. 6-9, per a press release. Attendees can expect music covers ranging from Billie Eilish to Cole Porte as well as discussions of issues such as social media, politics and more. Mizrahi recently worked as a consulting producer on the Hulu sitcom Mid Century Modern, which premiered this spring; he also recently appeared in Prime Video’s Étoile and will have a role in A24’s Timothee Chalamet/Gwyneth Paltrow film, Marty Supreme, which is slated to be released Dec. 25. 

Australian non-binary DJ/producer G Flip announced their third studio album, Dream Ride, arriving Sept. 5 via AWAL Recordings, per a press release. In addition, G Flip released a new single titled “In Another Life,” available now on all streaming platforms. G Flip said, “When diving in and writing this record, I was sonically captivated by the [‘80s]. I love the use of reverb, the drum tones, all the sonics, the musicality, the soloing, and big drum moments. I also really wanted to make a world to accompany the music and storytelling.”

Lorde’s fourth studio album, Virgin, made a dominant U.S. chart debut, entering at #2 on the Billboard 200 and securing multiple #1 spots across key Billboard charts, including No.1 Top Album Sales, No.1 Top Rock & Alternative Albums, No. 1 Top Alternative Albums, No.1 Vinyl Albums and No.1 Indie Store Album Sales, a press release touted. The release marks Lorde’s strongest U.S. chart debut since the 2017 album MelodramaVirgin also represents a career milestone with 31,000 vinyl albums sold in the U.S.—Lorde’s best-ever week for vinyl sales.

With more than 85% of the 2026 Ultimate Disco Cruise and Beyond cabins sold, the music performance lineup continues to get bigger, a press release noted. Grammy-winning group The Commodores—whose hits include “Brick House,” “Easy,” “Three Times A Lady,”, “Sail On,” “Still,” “Nightshift,” and so many more—along with Philadelphia group The Three Degrees will grace the stage of the Norwegian Pearl as it embarks from Miami on Feb. 23, 2026, for its five-day voyage that will be headed to Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. Some of the other acts slated to perform include KC and the Sunshine Band, Sister Sledge (featuring Sledgendary), Evelyn “Champagne” King, The Jacksons, WAR and The Sugarhill Gang.

Rapper/queer ally NLE Choppa is now also known as NLE The Great with the release of “Messiah (Devil’s Diss),” out now via NLE Entertainment/Warner Records, per a press release. The song is described as “a fearless rebuke of darkness and ego, and a powerful proclamation of faith, purpose and divine alignment.” “Messiah” arrives on the heels of other purpose-filled releases such as “Hard Life,” “Stay Strong,” “Crescent Moon,” “Can We Live?” and more.

Actor/LGBTQ+ ally Mark Ruffalo criticized Joe Rogan after the podcaster’s recent realization that Donald Trump and masked ICE agents’ harsh attacks and rounding-up of undocumented and non-criminal Latino immigrants are cruel and out of control, Deadline noted. “Dear @joerogan. It’s a little late now to pretend like project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the play book all along. You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point,” Avengers alum and political advocate Ruffalo posted on Threads. Ruffalo was responding to Rogan’s outburst against the ICE abductions occurring in Blue states as part of a widening intimidation process by the Trump White House.

Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora are among the additions to the sequel to the film The Devil Wears Prada, per Variety. Meanwhile, two recognizable characters—Tracie Thoms, who played Lily, the handbag-loving best friend of Anne Hathaway’s character; and Tibor Feldman, who portrayed Irv Ravitz, the chair of Runway’s parent company, Elias-Clark—will reprise their roles. They will appear alongside the original film’s stars, Meryl Streep, Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci in the film, which is currently in production and set to open theatrically on May 1, 2026. 

Apple TV+ debuted a teaser for season four of the award-winning drama The Morning Show, starring and executive-produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, among others, per a press release. Season four opens in spring 2024—almost two years after the events of season three. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America. Along with Witherspoon and Aniston, the star-studded ensemble cast includes Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Mark Duplass, Greta Lee, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook and returning fan favorite Jon Hamm.

Beauty YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous and husband Nats Getty have filed for divorce, ending their six-year marriage, according to Them, citing People. A statement read, ““While they have decided to end their marriage, they remain friends and have the [utmost] love and respect for each other.” Getty filed the paperwork for divorce on July 2 in Los Angeles. As recently as 2023, the couple, both of whom are transgender, had shared that they were trying to conceive a child through IVF treatments. Gorgeous rose to fame as a YouTuber with millions of followers; Getty is a fashion designer and heir in the Getty oil family.

Hollywood reacted with shock and sadness to actor Julian McMahon‘s death at age 56 after a private bout with cancer, Deadline noted. Co-stars from projects such as Nip/Tuck, Charmed and Fantastic Four commented. Nip/Tuck co-star Dylan Walsh told Deadline, “I’m stunned. We rode this wave together and I loved him. My heart goes out to Kelly and [their daughter] Maddy. Jules! I know you’d want me to say something to make you smile—all the inside jokes. All those years you had my back, and my god, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”

Actor John Cusack (Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil) posted a now-deleted meme on Bluesky that critics have described as being “antisemitic” and evocative of Nazi propaganda, Deadline noted. Cusack—a staunch critic of Israel’s actions in Gaza—shared a graphic linking Antony Blinken, the Jewish former U.S. secretary of state, to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.Each of the photos in the graphic contains the Star of David, gesturing towards centuries-old antisemitic tropes about hidden Jewish conspiracies of influence and power. 

Hip-hop legend LL Cool J and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan pulled out of a Fourth of July festival in Philadelphia in support of municipal workers’ ongoing strike in the city, NBC News noted. “There’s absolutely no way that I could perform, cross a picket line and pick up money when I know that people are out there fighting for a living wage,” LL said in a video posted on X. He made the announcement the night before the Wawa Welcome America Festival, Philadelphia’s annual July Fourth celebration. The union responded to the rapper/actor on social media, saying it was encouraging to see him use his influence “to champion causes that matter to everyday people.” The strike has since ended.

Musical producers Barry Kemp and Stephen Soucy announced that a musical adaptation of the 1997 cult comedy Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion will debut off-Broadway at Stage 42 later this year, People noted. Robin Schiff, the original movie’s screenwriter, wrote the book for themusical adaptation, with music and lyrics by Gwendolyn Sanford and Brandon Jay. Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow starred in the original Romy and Michele movie as the title characters; earlier this year, Sorvino confirmed that she and Kudrow are making a sequel with 20th Century Studios.

In Charleston, South Carolina, Tiger King star Bhagavan “Doc” Antle was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison and fined $55,000 for trafficking in exotic animals and money laundering after pleading guilty in November 2023, CNN noted. Three others who pleaded guilty in his investigation received either probation or a four-month prison sentence. The show focused on dealers and conservationists of big cats, centering on disputes between Joe Exotic, an openly gay collector and private zookeeper from Oklahoma; and Carole Baskin, who runs Big Cat Rescue in Florida. Exotic (real name: Joseph Maldonado-Passage) is serving a 21-year federal prison sentence for trying to hire two different men to kill Baskin.
